We happen to be working an ARTA trip on the weekend of the 2008 American River Festival. As you can see above, many folks attended the freestyle rodeo.....super cool to see all the support!

The big MOVE!

Last week, Angi and I moved from Groveland to Sonora, CA (35 minutes down the hill) into a nice 2 bedroom 1 bath house. The best part is, we are right downtown and get to actually talk to people! Can you believe it......"TALK" to people!!!!! Side note: we now have satellite dish TV....sports for days!!!!! I am thrilled.....While Angi says I already don't listen. So far, we have thoroughly enjoyed the big house and what the new location has to offer.

Lovin it!

It seems as though the summer of 2008 flew by incredibly fast! The past 3 months consisted of incredible rafting trips with ARTA, kayaking trips with Angela & friends, and a variety of road trips to the South fork American, San Francisco, Petaluma, Concord, Idaho, Utah, Yosemite, and more.

The 2008 whitewater rafting season has almost come to an end. That means it's time for me to park my booty back in my chair and start plugging away at all of the wonderful "behind the scenes" stuff at work. Needless to say, I get to do more html, creative writing, read fascinating books on web development/keyword searches within search engines, and so on...

We continue to plan our wedding, which is happening on May 9, 2009 at Camp Lotus in Lotus, CA.

Idaho- Selway River Fun

The Selway River is a trip every rafter, boatman, and river junkie should get on! Only 1 private or commercial launch per day, meaning you never see a single person on the water. 1200 people float this river every year due to permit limitations and few commercial companies running it. I feel blessed to have had this opportunity with ARTA! Great campsites, beautiful scenery, amazing hikes, and awesome whitewater are some of the reasons this river stands above the rest (in my opinion of course). I have to mention my most precious photo of the trip (because i simply cannot display it). I set up and used the best outdoor crapper of my life. The spectacular view of the river while dropping dookie....so sweet that I set up my camera on a timer and took a picture. Ask me to show you some time....you'll appreciate it too.

Just a lil' update...

What's new:

Last week Brad Faulkner and I ran the Main Tuolumne at a pretty decent flow (somewhere in the 2500 cfs range). The picture to the left shows the epic cabin boof (normally you run left). In fact, it was so much fun, we hiked back up and ran it again!

An epic day...

Last week, Ben Wartburg and I hit up Cherry Creek at a substantially high flow (2150 CFS) I wouldn't recommend boating the Upper Tuolumne at this level unless you are a rock-solid class V boater. It was my first time down this stretch and I nearly soiled myself on multiple occasions. I found myself getting pushed around quite a bit, skirting the major rapids, swimming out of Christmas Tree Hole, and looking forward to Take-out. Ben made the run look easy, styling everything! Overall, it was an epic day and scared the crap out of me. I look forward to getting on it at lower flows in the near future. The Latest...

Just thought I'd start a blog page for fun! I guess this will keep me busy during those "slow days" at the office.
What's new?
Angela and I are getting married next May and we are super excited! It's pretty nice spending everyday with the person you love most! I must say....she puts up with a lot dealing with me and all.

The past few months have been a lot of fun! Skiing in Tahoe, hiking in Yosemite, kayak surfing in Santa Cruz, surf sessions on barking dawg, visits to the bay to see family and friends, and much more...
What Now?- Boating season has begun and I've been fortunate enough to see a few new runs lately. I look forward to getting on the Upper Clavey next week and possibly checking out the lower stretch on the South Fork Tuolumne (though I hear it's more of a portage game than anything else). We shall see.....
